CRB notice

Retirement of Paul Lee - After over 30 years of officiating, and at the age of 63, Paul has made the difficult decision to retire from active floor officiating at all levels.
Paul, played the sport in Swansea into his 40’s, but it was on the domestic and European referee stage that he made his mark.
He qualified as an International Referee in 1982 and had a successful career on the International stage.  Retiring from active International duty at the compulsory age of 50.
Paul continued however, in our domestic leagues in both Wales and England.  He has given over 30 years exemplary service in a career that has seen him referee in the Welsh National League, the English National League and the BBL.
Paul’s legacy has been, and will continue to be, his development of young, promising referees. He will continue this good work in the coming years by initiating and overseeing a new referee observer programme for the South Wales League commencing this season.
Good luck Paul, and thanks for your long and loyal service to Basketball in Wales.

Current - Important notice for all Welsh  Basketball Teams
Please be advised that any team that is based in Wales, must register with Basketball Wales. This is also applicable to those teams who only play in England. There is an agreement with England Basketball that requires registration with the home country organisation. Failure to register both coaches and players will place individuals at considerable risk, as there will be no insurance cover. Following any accidents, legal claims may be extremely punitive for individuals. Additionally, referees will refuse to officiate games if evidence of membership is not provided, prior to the game. Basketball Wales is grateful for your cooperation in this important matter.Details regarding the 2010, new FIBA basketball court markings

Current - BasketballWales is delighted to announce the launch of our Elite Talent Development Programme which will, in the first instance, focus on the identification and development of U12 (born 1997) and U14 (born 1995) girls in Wales. More
