Help your local club and Basketball Wales...and become a coach

So you want to become a coach? Once you have your qualification you will need to register with Basketball Wales (BW) so we know you’re out there and affiliated to us.

To register as a BW coach visit www.bwregistrations.com and follow the simple online process

Upcoming coaching courses are advertised via this website and on our Facebook page.

We also require all coaches go through a DBS check if you will be coming into contact with players aged 18 and under. To apply for a Basketball Wales DBS simply email dbs@basketballwales.com and you will be guided through the process.

Foreign Coaches

If you are now resident in the UK and a coach wanting to bring your expertise to Wales there are some procedures we need you to go through to make sure we’ve dotted the i’s and crossed all the t’s. We want the best coaches to coach our players, so we’re excited for coaches with experience in different countries to use that here in Wales once they are resident.

There are a few documents below we need you to send over to us so we can process the admin stuff and make sure you’re imparting all your knowledge as quickly as possible:

1.    Copy of your coaching certificate/license issued by your own basketball federation
2.    A curriculum vitae with details of your coaching experience
3.    A reference from your club you have coached in previously


Once you have all of these, please send theem to coaching@basketballwales.com and we will review them at HQ and let you know the outcome.

Then all you need to do is pay a fee of £35 for our Basketball Wales level 2 coaching award and register as a coach for the current season. This can be done through our online registration system. www.bwregistrations.com

Once we have all of this, we can add you to our coaches database and send out your Level 2 certificate.
